WebHealth for Seniors: Training Seniors to Access Electronic Health Information is a training contract funded by the National Network of Libraries of Medicine and the Southeastern Atlantic Regional Medical Library at the University of Maryland at Baltimore (Contract # N01-LM-1-3522).

The contract award was made to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and its Health Sciences Library and Biocommunications Center to establish a training program for training Memphis-area seniors on ways to search the Internet for reliable health information. Principal Investigator is Priscilla Stephenson, Associate Professor and Reference Services Coordinator at UTHSC. Co-Principal Investigators are Jan Orick, Director, Biomedical Library, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, and Mary Virginia Taylor, Chief Librarian, Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Memphis.

The project will involve training Memphis area seniors at three city-sponsored senior citizens centers: Josephine K. Lewis Center for Senior Citizens, Lucille Smith McWherter Senior Citizens' Center, and Orange Mound Senior Citizens' Center. Chief trainer for the project is Wendy Clark, a former librarian and computer trainer employed by Lewis Center.

In addition to the project's investigators, training assistance will be provided by Kay Cunningham and Mary Freilich, librarians at the University of Memphis Ned R. McWherter Library and Gloria Hayden, Public Services Librarian at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
