6 Macintosh iMacs and 5 Windows PCs located in the research alcove in the Health Sciences Library are available for public use. These computers are dedicated to accessing the library's catalog, databases, electronic journals, and other internet resources. In addition, Beilstein, SciFinder Scholar, and Journal Citations Reports can be accessed from the Windows computers. Current Contents is available on Windows computer number 12. To ensure that stations are always available for searching, word processing and other office software is not available on these stations.
A special note to Windows users: If you save a file to one of the library's Windows computers and you want to keep it, make sure you save it to a disk or email the file to yourself. Our Windows computers automatically restart themselves after being idle for 30 minutes. Once restarted, any file you might have placed on the computer will be deleted and cannot be retrieved.
