- Books from notable presses
- Association items -- books that have no value in themselves but
have belonged to famous people, etc. (These include autographed
books, those bearing bookplates of interest, or those bearing
important marginalia)
- Significant illustrated books
- Fine bindings
- Limited editions (250 copies or less)
- Significant first editions
- Expensive items (books which cost, or are valued at, unusually
high figures)-for example, art or architecture books valued at
$500.00 or more
- Facsimile editions of health science books with superior
quality paper and binding

- Books about Tennessee health care or Tennesseans
(history, biography, fiction etc.) as well as books by Tennesseans
and Tennessee imprints (all press issues before 1850 and uncommon
imprints to 1900)
- Books on the history of health care, especially by health care specialty
- Books in related subject areas, such as Civil War health care
histories related to Tennessee battles or published before
1900
