    In June 2008 Walter W. Diggs, the son of Lemuel W. Diggs, M.D., gave 57 watercolor images of normal and abnormal blood cells to the Health Sciences Historical Collections. The images were composed and painted by the Memphis artist Dorothy Sturm in the 1960s, and were commissioned by Dr. Diggs to use as educational tools for faculty and students. An online exhibit of the watercolor images is now available for viewing on the Health Sciences Library's web site. Let us know what you think!

    This time of the year is always exciting and busy. The UTHSC library has been conducting orientations for new students since early July. Online resources are readily available from any computer on campus, but to use them from off campus you must register with the library. To do so, you can either register online or download and submit the PDF form

    As a result of the UT budget situation, the library must reduce the size of the collection by approximately $340,000 for FY 2009. The list of resources identified for cuts will be posted in a few days on the library website, and we will seek your input once again before final decisions are made. We regret this situation and ask for your understanding as we proceed with the process of cancelling library journals, databases, and subscription books.
